Hera Bedside Crib FAQs

Yes, the Hera Bedside Crib is provided with a premium, bespoke mattress. The mattress is made from Kidtech foam which provides excellent support and helps to regulate body temperature. It also features a removable and washable cover.

The foam used in the Hera Crib mattress is polyurethane and contains melamine. It is free from TCPP. Additionally, our foam supplier does not use any brominated flame retardants in our products. There are no UV additives used.

Our Hera 'next to me' crib is suitable from the day you bring them home, to approximately 6 months old.

This is the standard for bedside cribs, however, all babies are not standard. Your baby will tell you when it's time to move! Signs to look out for are: your baby is beginning to roll over or pull up in the crib, or has simply outgrown it.

With 5 different height adjustments, the Hera crib fits all parent bed styles from platform to divan style beds (parent mattress height from 56.5 cm up to 70cm).

Underneath your baby, is a unique perforated double layered base system.

This patent pending design creates an air cushion under your baby, ensuring 24/7, 360° air circulation for maximum peace of mind.

For fussy or restless sleepers, the dual base can be easily adjusted with our no-tools, integrated, Reflux setting.

The crib top lifts easily off the base, which, fitted with castors, makes it super easy to move around the house or from room to room.

The luxurious interior of the crib is finished with a soft organic cotton. The small mesh on the sides is made from 100% polyester.

All interior fabrics can be easily fully removed, and machine washed.

Your baby's safety is our top priority at Gaia Baby. We don’t use any MDF or Chipboard in our furniture and all the materials used conform to and surpass stringent global standards. The Hera Crib is made from Ash, Birch and Beech Ply with an organic cotton removeable/washable liner

Formaldehyde is a natural gas found in all wood and every piece naturally contains some very very small level of formaldehyde. No wooden furniture can actually claim to be 100% formaldehyde free but our Cot is 100% true/solid wood that is proven to have the lowest level of formaldehyde vs MDF or Chipboard variants.

While there is currently no compulsory limit in the UK or EU for materials, we choose to meet and exceed the world’s strictest requirements. Australia has the latest and toughest testing standards for formaldehyde (no more than 0.5 ppm). Our materials tested at less than 0.2 ppm, far below the limit.

Yes, to adhere to UK safety standards, the  Hera Bedside Crib Mattress has been treated with flame retardants but they meet the REACH standard. The mattress itself is not, meaning the sleep surface is very safe.
